over the river and through the woods
I've had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family a couple of times and was recently thinking back to the first time we spent a morning together. It was an unseasonably warm spring day when we made our way through their quiet neighbourhood down to the sweeping expanse of green park trails nearby.
All morning the boys ran across bridges, explored wooded stairways and took cuddle breaks with mom and dad when legs got tired and snacks were needed.
I remember this morning fondly because it felt like the start of things: the start of spring and also the start of summer; the start of a new season of experiences for these young boys; the start of new life springing up in the plants and streams we explored.
The lazy morning passed quickly and slowly all at once, to this day leaving me with warm memories of capturing a special slice of this young family's life. It reminds me that while time moves quickly, mornings can still move slowly. Enjoy them.
