The best sessions are the ones where everyone is on the same page in terms of session expectations. These initial questions help me get to know you better and get a sense of what you’re looking for from our photography session.

Tell me about your family. What do you like to do as a family? Do you have group/individual hobbies?

Tell me about your children. Do they have any favorite toys or activities? Describe their personalities. This will help me know how to approach them at our session to make them the most comfortable.

Describe where the session will take place (i.e. in your home, around the neighbourhood, etc. – it can be multiple spots and also fluid depending on mood/weather, etc.)

What is your highest priority of the session (Of course we will try to get it all, but if you had to choose the one SURE THING.)

You are looking for a documentary style session (great!), but do you also want a few shots that are more traditional with everyone posed and looking at the camera?

Do you have in mind how you plan to showcase your images? Large wall hangings, canvases, wall groupings, albums, or smaller prints?
